“Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” Psalm 150:1-6.
The Master’s Men, Special Guests
The a capella singing group The Master’s Men will lead the congregation of Swift Creek Baptist Church in a very special worship service at 11 AM on Sunday, August 13th. They will present testimony and song to honor the Lord, proclaiming the message of God’s love through music.
We are currently seeking an organist to accompany the hymns during our service on Sunday morning. Swift Creek has one service every Sunday morning at 11 am. The organist would be expected to join the pianist in accompanying the hymns. The organist would also be responsible for some of the service music each week, usually the postlude and sometimes the offertory. The organist may be asked to participate in special services at festive times of the year. The job is considered part-time at 2-4 hours per week (including Sunday morning) and is budgeted at $4,160 per year. Interested an qualified applicants should send their resumes to Heather Hills, Minister of Music, at email@example.com.
This Week in Worship—August 20
Join us in worship this week to welcome back Alex Huryk on violin. We will come together in worship to celebrate the unity of God’s people.
The Adult Choir at Swift Creek Baptist Church is an integral part of worship. The choir helps worshipers to prepare their hearts to worship God and receive His Word through weekly anthems and calls to worship throughout the year. The choir also prepares special musical offerings for the major celebrations of the liturgical year. Anyone who loves God and can sing is welcome to join the choir, regardless of musical background or training. We emphasize praising and honoring the Lord though beautiful music, and we value the sense of fellowship and community with other choir members. If you are interested in singing with the choir, please contact Heather Hills, minister of music, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The handbell choir prepares music for special occasions, such as the celebration of Christmas and Easter. We are blessed to have 2 octaves of handbells for use in worship. Handbells are fun and easy to play, and some of our members have no musical training outside of their participation in the handbell choir. If you are interested in joining the handbell choir, please contact Heather Hills, minister of music, at email@example.com.
At Swift Creek, we value music in worship and encourage all those to whom God has given the gift of music to use their talents for the Lord. Instrumentalists and vocalists alike are encouraged to prepare appropriate selections for use as anthems, offertories, or special music. In the past, we have been blessed to enjoy the music of harps, flutes, violins, and many other musical instruments, as well as solos by musicians from 6 to 60 years old. We welcome all music that is honoring to God and rejoice with the performer in the gifts God has given us. Come join us and all our musicians as we praise the Lord together!
