“Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” Psalm 150:1-6.
This Week in Worship—December 17
Join us as special guests Elena Schulmeister-Antona and her teacher, Stephanie Swisher, help us to celebrate Christmastime with music on the violin. Laurel Hills will sing “Mary, Did You Know?”
Don’t forget to join us again at 7:00 PM on the 17th for Swift Creek’s Christmas musical, A Song Was Born at Christmas, which will be presented by Swift Creek’s Adult Choir accompanied by chamber orchestra. There will also be a special appearance by the Swift Creek handbell orchestra.
The Adult Choir at Swift Creek Baptist Church is an integral part of worship. The choir helps worshipers to prepare their hearts to worship God and receive His Word through weekly anthems and calls to worship throughout the year. The choir also prepares special musical offerings for the major celebrations of the liturgical year. Anyone who loves God and can sing is welcome to join the choir, regardless of musical background or training. We emphasize praising and honoring the Lord though beautiful music, and we value the sense of fellowship and community with other choir members. If you are interested in singing with the choir, please contact Heather Hills, minister of music, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The handbell choir prepares music for special occasions, such as the celebration of Christmas and Easter. We are blessed to have 2 octaves of handbells for use in worship. Handbells are fun and easy to play, and some of our members have no musical training outside of their participation in the handbell choir. If you are interested in joining the handbell choir, please contact Heather Hills, minister of music, at email@example.com.
At Swift Creek, we value music in worship and encourage all those to whom God has given the gift of music to use their talents for the Lord. Instrumentalists and vocalists alike are encouraged to prepare appropriate selections for use as anthems, offertories, or special music. In the past, we have been blessed to enjoy the music of harps, flutes, violins, and many other musical instruments, as well as solos by musicians from 6 to 60 years old. We welcome all music that is honoring to God and rejoice with the performer in the gifts God has given us. Come join us and all our musicians as we praise the Lord together!
